Annual Meeting FAQs

Bluebonnet’s Annual Meeting is one of the many benefits of being a member of an electric cooperative. The meeting, held each year in May, offers members the opportunity to meet the Board of Directors, the general manager and co-op staff. Members who attend the Annual Meeting also elect directors and attend to any Bluebonnet business before the meeting.

Bluebonnet members can register from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Annual Meeting, held at The Silos on 77, 1031 County Road 223, Giddings. Upon arrival, Bluebonnet member service representatives will assist you with registration and enter you into a drawing for a door prize. To register, your name must appear on your Bluebonnet account. You can verify or add your name by calling a member service representative at 800-842-7708 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Please bring your driver’s license or a valid photo ID and your April bill to the Annual Meeting. Your April bill includes a QR code for quick registration. If you don’t have your paper copy, log in to your MyBluebonnet account and select Billing & Payments, then Billing History to print it. In the mobile app, go to Bill & Pay, then Billing History to access your April bill. A member service representative will also ask you to verify two pieces of information on your account.

Three seats on Bluebonnet’s Board of Directors are up for election this year. There is one candidate for the District 3 seat, Bastrop County: Roderick Emanuel (incumbent). There is one candidate for the District 4 seat, Lee, Milam and Williamson counties: Russell Jurk (incumbent). There is one candidate for the District 6 seat, Austin, Colorado and Fayette counties: Byron Balke (incumbent).

During Board elections, co-op members can vote for directors in all districts. The districts in the co-op’s service area were drawn along Bluebonnet’s service area boundary and county lines. The seven districts are represented by one to three directors in each district.

The Proxy Committee is composed of all Bluebonnet Board members whose terms are not currently up for election. This year’s Proxy Committee members are Ben Flencher, Robert Mikeska, Milton Shaw, Shana Whiteley, Debbi Goertz and Bryan Bracewell.

Completed proxy forms must be dropped off at any of Bluebonnet’s five member service centers in Bastrop, Brenham, Giddings, Lockhart or Manor, or postmarked by May 5, 2026, and mailed to:
