More than 600 Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members and guests filled The Silos on 77 event center in Giddings on Tuesday, May 13, for the co-op’s Annual Meeting. Attendees enjoyed live music, received updates on the cooperative’s performance in 2024 and early 2025, re-elected three incumbent directors, and took home door prizes donated by Bluebonnet’s vendors.

Current members will see a credit on their May electric bill
Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative will return more than $11 million in capital credits in 2025, an increase of $747,000 over last year. Bluebonnet’s members will see a reduction on their May electric bill as a result of the capital credits approved by the Board of Directors during its April meeting.

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to award $1,000 grants to 63 local fire departments that protect and serve communities in the cooperative’s 14-county service area.
“These departments serve everyone in our communities, answering the call every day, around the clock,” said Matt Bentke, Bluebonnet’s general manager. “Our line workers and control center operators work closely with firefighters and first responders during emergency events, which is critically important to keeping people safe.”
